Title: Macromedia Flash MX 2004 For Rich Internet Applications
Author: Phillip Kerman
Publisher: New Riders
ISBN: 0-7357-1366-9
Review:

Attributing my knowledge of Flash to Phillip Kerman (Sam's Teach Yourself Macromedia Flash 5 in 24 Hours), I had no qualms about delving into another of his books.

After skipping the first section titled which basically covers a short history of internet applications and their potential functions, I dove into the second section: Designing Flash Applications. I quickly discovered that this book did not contain much of the information that I was looking for. I'm not claiming that the book isn't chock full 'o useful information, because it is. The problem is that most of the information was below my current level of understanding. Not that I didn't learn anything...

Macromedia Flash MX 2004 For Rich Internet Applications (RIA) is for Flash designers with an intermediate knowledge of the program who would like to take things to the next level. The books covers concepts on differing types of technology; working with, presenting, and exchanging data; and productivity techniques. For this purpose the book would be a valuable resource for the beginning RIA designer.
